My name is Adam Heimowitz and I am a Software Developer and Tech Enthusiast.
I graduated from Binghamton Univeristy in the spring of 2014 and during my time there attempted to make as big of an impact as I could. I served as the President of my living community for a year, during which time my fellow e-board members and I were able to put on events that helped bring joy to all the students throughout the University. Our biggest event was Casino in the Woods where we transformed our Dining Hall into a real Casino for the night and donated all of the money we raised to the Red Cross. I also served as the Student Association Webmaster during my senior year which allowed me the chance to work with several student organizations to help bring some of their website ideas to life.
Afterwards I worked as a Software Developer for TD Ameritrade in Jersey City where I worked along side the Fixed Income Group to help automate many of the processes that were previously done manually by the traders. I built an order management system for new issue securities enabling the ability for business to process orders online through our website for these new issues, cutting down the processing time for allocating shares to clients.
Today I work at Andium on the Cloud team where I work on the systems that take in the data from our devices in the field and consume it so that our customers can view their data and monitor their devices accordingly.
Develop systems to handle data from our devices into the cloud
Developed systems to automate and add additional functionality for Fixed Income products
Worked with various student organizations to help create and manage websites for their groups
Programmed an interface that allowed the hardware teams to lookup real time server information for any given server
Helped maintain networking servers and equipment and provided IT support throughout the firm
Repaired student and faculty computers and assisted with other campus networking issues
As the Student Association Webmaster I developed a system for the SA that would allow all the e-board members to edit their section of the newsletter and then send out a beutifully formatted newsletter to the entire student body once the President deemed it ready.
With the help of a friend we developed a custom forum for filmmakers that allowed someone with an idea for a film to post their idea onto the forum and find a cast and crew for their film in order to turn it into a reality.
I worked along side a team of 3 developers in order to create a system that allowed users to post reviews of their landlords so that future potential tenants could make smart decisions about their living situations. The site amassed hundreds of reviews in its first month, but unfortunately due to legal issues with landlords the site was forced to be shut down.
